Moose Meadows Alpaca Ranch

I learned something new from Stoneridge Pal, Patty. They raise Alpacas here in northern Idaho. It's not a potato! They look like a llama and their wool is considered to be rare and is 5 times warmer than sheep's wool.

She wanted to buy a special birthday gift and decided that this might be the place. Open weekends by appointment only, she did just that and I tagged along for the ride.

As you can see above, it's not a large store. But they do have some pretty unique things. Super warm socks, gloves, hats, scarves, sweaters and blankets. Then they have some other local products to fill their shelves.

We got the grand tour and got to see the babies and feed the older ones.

It's only a 20 minute ride from home. So if you come up to visit I may take you there myself!
