The Reason Why...

It was a long winter, to be sure. But now that the days are getting longer, warmer and brighter StoneRidge Guy and me are reminded as to why we moved here.

The ladies played golf and the guys went fishing. At the end of the day, we all met at our house on the lake. Even though our chairs were on a dirt patio you can't beat what we've got. And there's no better way to end the day than to be surrounded by beautiful scenery, good friends and good wine.

Maggie has transformed from a snow dog to a water dog. This is one way we try to tire the sisters, Maggie and Sadie. (pause the "Mytunes" in the sidebar before playing the video)

Everyone should be a lucky as we are!

Pup and Circumstance

Last Wednesday was graduation day at Chandrea Farms. They breed miniature Australian Shepards, but they also board and train. Stoneridge guy and me met trainer, Cheryl, when Maggie was only 6 weeks old. We wanted to get a jump on her training and took a couple of private lessons.

Those lessons were more for us than our pup, but did help in getting Maggie adjusted and controled. Naturally, when I found out that Cheryl was having a group lesson on manners I signed us up. Stoneridge Pal Kathy and her pup Kelly joined us.

After 5 weeks we were given our certificates. I would consider it the equivalent of graduating from kindergarden. But remember how exciting that was?

Where's The Beef?!

Along with everything else that's going on, we had the opportunity to buy a quarter side of beef. Stoneridge Pal Tammy's uncle raises cattle down in Twin Falls. All of my facts may not be quite right, but I know that he grain feeds them for a while before slaughter. They are then aged in a cooler for a couple of weeks before they go to the butcher. She had everything packaged for 2. There's nothing like fresh beef! But what do you do with this much meat? Well we had to buy a freezer. We now have an appliance working at the new house.

It may not look like alot, but this is about 200lbs of beef!

So how about a house update? We are moving right along now. Monday will be a busy day at 181 Stewart Dr. Stoneridge neighbor and stonemason will be starting the fireplace and adding the stone to the outside of the house. The electrician will be back to help Stoneridge Guy put in light switches, outlets and lights.

The front door is now in, but not trimmed out yet, and we started to put down the hardwood flooring just beyond the fireplace so the stonework can get started.

My knees were sooo sore when we were finished!

Some of the cabinets have been delivered and should be completed next week along with the bookshelf/cabinets for the fireplace wall. Once the cabinets are installed, we'll be able to start laying tile in the great room.

Right now my task is picking out the different tiles for the guest bath and laundry rooms. We'll be able to start there right away. (I just wish my sister was here to help me, she is so good at this.) I did drag new Stoneridge Pal Carol with me to help.

More to come soon!

Have Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Hope everyone enjoys this day no matter how you celebrate it!
I think a margarita would be appropriate.
